The media serves as a powerful force in society, informing and educating the public by covering local, national, and international events and trends. Through this role, it shapes public opinion and influences social discourse in meaningful ways. In particular, print journalism ā delivered through newspapers, magazines, and other printed media ā relies on the meticulous collection, verification, and dissemination of news. At the heart of print reporting lies the principle of objectivity, which requires journalists to present facts impartially, without personal bias or subjective influence.
The course Reporting for Print Media offers a comprehensive exploration of the craft of print journalism. It introduces students to the fundamentals of news reporting, their skills in news gathering, story development, specialized reporting, and feature and opinion writing.
